Før slet de med å få søkere til lederstillinger. Da de åpnet for at sykepleiere og vernepleiere kunne få trene på å bli ledere, rant det inn 30 søkere. Nå er sju av dem ansatt.
Helsedirektør Bjørn Guldvog tror ikke Norge får en nasjonal sjefsykepleier med det første. Da ser han det som mer naturlig at den neste helsedirektøren kan være en sykepleier.
Medlem av Rådet for sykepleieetikk Kurt Lyngved tror endringer er spesielt krevende for mennesker som står i vanskelige livssituasjoner som utfordrer deres psykiske helse.
Norsk Sykepleierforbund (NSF) er kritisk til bruken av OECD-tallene i Helsepersonellkommisjonens rapport. Tallene viser at det er flere sykepleiere per innbygger i Norge enn i andre land.

Kvinner med Takotsubo syndrom møter ofte helsepersonell som er usikre på diagnosen. Pasienter får vanligvis lite oppfølging selv om de fortsatt har symptomer.
