Over halvparten av Norges befolkning ønsker å dø hjemme, men kun 13 prosent gjør det. Hvis vi hadde snakket om døden i forkant, kunne flere fått oppfylt sitt siste ønske.
– Sykepleiens redaktør skriver at en av grunnene til å ønske aktiv dødshjelp er at mennesker ikke vil være «til bry»for sine nærmeste når hjelpebehovet blir for stort. Det mener jeg er en klanderverdig påstand. Det er mer nyansert enn som så, skriver innleggsforfatteren.

Da forskere målte aktiviteten til sykehjemspasienter, fant de at pasienten tilbrakte over halvparten av døgnet i sengen.
Eldre har et langt liv bak seg og kan ha mye å gi.
Gjennom kunnskapsdeling om hygiene, tilgang til rent utstyr og veiledning i egenomsorg kan helsepersonell bidra til å forbedre livskvaliteten for denne sårbare gruppen.
– Ingen har regnet på hvor mye dette vil koste, sier KS-direktør og kaller vedtaket om samboergaranti i eldreomsorgen «uklokt».
