Studien viser at ambulansepersonell i mange tilfeller ikke har hatt tilstrekkelig observasjonstid til å vurdere om det er nødvendig med medisinsk oppfølging av pasienten.
Undersøkelsen viser at dokumentasjonen av effekt av behovsmedisineringen, ved sykehjemmet der undersøkelsen ble gjennomført, var manglefull.
Deltakelse i nettverk om palliasjon og kreftomsorg økte sykepleiernes kompetanse. Også hospitering og hyppig deltakelse på fagdager ga høyt utbytte.
Pårørende bidrar til at pasienter kan bo hjemme lenger og er en viktig ressurs for velferdsstaten. Men de kan også bidra til urettferdig tildeling av sykehjemsplass ved å være pådriver for familiemedlemmer.
Ulikt kunnskapsnivå og upålitelig utstyr gjør det vanskelig for helsepersonell i hjemmesykepleien å oppdage og diagnostisere urinveisinfeksjon. Derfor trenger vi en nasjonal rettledende prosedyre for urinprøvetaking og bruk av urinstiks i hjemmesykepleien.
Hvordan tilrettelegges det for autonomi i sykehjem for pasienter med demens? Hva fremmer, eventuelt hemmer slike muligheter i dagliglivet?
Mange pasienter i hjemmesykepleien mottar uformelle omsorgstjenester fra familie og venner.
